In celebration of the holy month of Ramadan, DHIS Primary Buah Batu organized a series of meaningful activities aimed at instilling values of empathy, independence, and devotion among students. These programs actively involved students from various grade levels, providing them with valuable spiritual and social learning experiences.

One of the key activities was Barbekua (Barang Bekas Berkualitas). In this program, students collected their preloved items that were still in good condition and suitable for use. These items were then sold at very affordable prices, starting from IDR 1,000. Students were also directly involved in promoting and selling their goods, allowing them to learn about entrepreneurship, responsibility, and the spirit of sharing.

Another activity was Takjil On The Road, where students participated in distributing takjil packages to the community. The distribution took place at nearby mosques as well as in front of the school just before iftar time. Through this activity, students experienced the joy of giving and developed a stronger sense of empathy toward others.

The school also conducted Zakat at School, providing students with the opportunity to perform zakat within the school environment. Upper-level students were entrusted to serve as zakat officers after receiving proper training. This program not only raised awareness about zakat but also nurtured responsibility, honesty, and trustworthiness among students.

In strengthening students’ spiritual growth, DHIS Primary Buah Batu organized Al-Qur’an Days (Shining Hafidz). Each class was given specific tahfidz targets to achieve throughout Ramadan. Students enthusiastically worked towards these goals, creating a positive and motivating environment that fostered a deeper love for the Qur’an.

As part of its commitment to the surrounding community, the school also carried out an Infaq Sembako Program. Through this initiative, essential food packages were distributed to local residents in need. This program reflected the true spirit of sharing and social care, while teaching students to be more aware of and responsive to the needs of others.

Overall, the Ramadan activity series was successfully implemented and brought positive impacts on students’ character development. It is hoped that the values of compassion, sincerity, and generosity cultivated during this month will continue to grow and be practiced in students’ daily lives.
